Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze says he is happy with the current squad despite rival teams making big signings this transfer period.
Amakhosi have not signed any players in January, having brought in 12 in the last transfer period.
The team has been linked with several players in the past weeks, but the current co-coaches have faith in the current team.
“I’m very happy with the squad that we have,” said the Kaizer Chiefs coach.
“We practically signed 12 players at the beginning of the season, and as I’ve said, the pre-season struggles didn’t put the new players into the necessary condition to understand how we want to play. Now, we have had time to rectify that, and I’m sure we are going to see even more quality, especially from the newer players,” Kaze said as per SABC Sport.
Kaizer Chiefs could loan some players
Earlier this month, Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung said that the club was unlikely to go into the market in January.
Kaze said there may be a few players that might be sent out on loan before the Janaury transfer window ends.
“Some conversations are going around with regards to players going out, but in terms of the incomings, it’s just about seeing if there is potentially a very good deal on a very specific kind of player,” he said.
Kaizer Chiefs are stranded with Morris
The Soweto giants were reportedly looking to loan out Tashreeq Morris to Stellenbosch FC but the Winelands side managed to reach a deal with Orlando Pirates to bring in Tshegofatso Mabasa.
The 31-year-old has not settled at Naturena and could leave the club at the end of the season.
