Kaze Praises Two Chiefs Stars

Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze praised the contribution of substitutes Siphesihle Ndlovu and Flavio Da Silva, saying they helped the side to stabilise things in their win over Marumo Gallants.

Amakhosi moved into second place in the Betway Premiership, overtaking rivals Orlando Pirates, who have two games in hand, thanks to a stunning goal by Glody Lilepo.

Chiefs broke the deadlock in the 67th minute, two after Ndlovu and Da Silva replaced Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Khanyisa Mayo, with Kaze dishing out special praise for the duo.

“We knew that sometimes player don’t get much time struggle a bit, especially on that field when there were a lot of 50-50 duels,” he told SuperSport TV.

“And we are happy with the contribution of Ndlovu and Silva, when they came in they were able to stabilize the game, they stabilized the team and we are to threaten in our attack.”

Kaze also stated they are happy with the three points but had to rattle their players a bit during half-time in order to secure their third win of 2026.

“We are happy for the three points,” he stated.

“I believe that we didn’t start the game very well, the first half was a little bit sloppy, a little bit reactive.

“We had to tell the players that if we want the three points we need to get out there and get on the front foot, not react to every pass and movement they make.

“The second half was much, much better and what a goal. We are very happy to get the three points and now we focus on the CAF Confederation game on Sunday.”
