Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze has explained the confusion over the substitution of Man of the Match Siphesihle Ndlovu , which was met with dismay from supporters.
Ndlovu was the Man of the Match in their 1-0 win over Golden Arrows that moved Chiefs into third place in the league after the victory at FNB Stadium on Tuesday evening.
In the first match back after the Africa Cup of Nations enforced break on the league, the Amakhosi faithful made it known they did not support the technical team decision, which Kaze stated, was not actually the case.
“It was an error on the paper, they wrote the name of Maboe but the number of Ndlovu, which got confusing but it was just an error on the paper, the intention was always to take off Maboe,” he said.
Amakhosi are now just two points behind league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns after their latest victory, albeit with second-placed Orlando Pirates having two games in hand.
