Kaze Confirms Fresh Chiefs Injury Blow

Posted on October 24, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs coach Cedric Kaze has confirmed that Khanyisa Mayo will not be available for the CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round second leg clash on Sunday.

The Glamour Boys welcome DR Congo outfit AS Simba to the Dobsonville Stadium after playing to a 0-0 away stalemate.

The Burundian mentor also provided an update on the likes of Inacio Miguel, Ethan Chislett, Given Msimango and Flavio Da Silva while adding that Paseka Mako remains sidelined.

“The thing that we are sure until now is that Mayo is out for this game after suffering hamstring injury on our last game,” Kaze said.

“We are still need to manage and make some additional tests for Miguel who’s injured at halftime against Siwelele. We will assess him today and tomorrow to see if he can feature, we are optimistic for him.

“Other than that, Ethan is still not fully fit. He started training with the group but without contact. Given has already had one week of training with the group after six months out of the field.

“[Paseka] Mako is still unavailable but the rest of the team are still doing good. Flavio [Da Silva] has been training with the group for the last 10 days and we’re pretty sure he’s good to go now.”
