Kaizer Jr On Mayo Signing

Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director has insisted it was no secret that Amakhosi wanted to sign Khanyisa Mayo before he completed his move to CR Belouizdad, and now welcome him with open arms.

Mayo, 27, left Cape Town City for Belouizdad ahead of last season but was excluded from the squad for the 2025/26 campaign by Sead Ramovic.

Chiefs pounced on their chance and added Mayo, who previously openly admitted he wants to play for the Glamour Boys, as latest addition to their squad.

“It’s no secret that we wanted to bring Khanyisa to Naturena before his move to Algeria,” said Kaizer Motaung Jr.

“He has a proven track record in the league, and we believe he will add significant value to the squad this season when we play in the league, as well as on the continent.

“He joins a select group of athletes who’ve made their families proud by following in their footsteps. We are truly happy to have him here and wish him all the best.”
