Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr has explained that Amakhosi’s loan of Xhosa Manyana was to strengthen the club’s DStv Diski Challenge side.
Amakhosi confirmed Manyana’s arrival on Wednesday, with the 20-year-old, who was part of the COSAFA-winning Amajita squad in 2024, joining Amakhosi on loan from Cape Town City.
Chiefs made it clear that Manyana was brought in to strengthen the side’s DDC squad for the remainder of the season.
“In a boost to their defence of the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) title, Kaizer Chiefs have acquired the services of Xhosa Manyana on loan from Cape Town City,” the club confirmed.
“The 20-year-old midfielder will be part of the Amakhosi youth development academy until June and will add quality and depth to the squad for the remainder of the DDC campaign.”

Amakhosi Sporting Director, Kaizer Jr further explained the reasons behind Chiefs’ only January signing so far.
“We felt the need to augment our DDC squad for the latter part of the season, and we are delighted to bring in a player like Xhosa to supplement the talent we already have within our reserve team structure,” he told the club’s media team.
“We welcome Xhosa to Kaizer Chiefs and look forward to seeing the best of his undoubted abilities.”
The need to loan Manyana arose after Amakhosi themselves opted to loan out several key players from their DDC squad to give them more senior football in the second half of the campaign.
