Kaizer Chiefs’ winless run extends to three matches

Chippa United and Kaizer Chiefs were unseparated after a goalless draw at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

For Amakhosi, the result marked a third game without victory, while the Chilli Boys took a 10th match without tasting a triumph.

With opportunities few and far between, Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Petersen made only one save on the night, coming via Eva Nga as late as the 67th minute. The best chance of the game fell for Mfundo Vilakazi in the 69th minute, but Chippa United’s goalie Dumisani Msibi parried away the low effort for a corner.

With Sekhukhune United snatching a win against Magesi, and AmaZulu grabbing their three points from Golden Arrows on Tuesday, Kaizer Chiefs have dropped to fifth place, while Chippa remain rock-bottom despite Magesi’s loss to Babina Noka.

Chilli Boys coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi made two changes after last Saturday’s stalemate against Siwelele, with Justice Figuareido and Banele Hlophe grabbing the places of Eva Nga and Ruzaigh Gamildien up front.
