Kaizer Chiefs vs Asante Kotoko

Kaizer Chiefs will do with some redemption in this year’s Toyota Cup against Asante Kotoko. Last year’s inaugural event saw a disappointing showing, as Amakhosi suffered a heavy 4–0 defeat to Tanzania’s Young Africans.

Following an unconvincing transfer window, Saturday’s encounter offers a chance to reset that narrative in front of their home fans.

Here are all the key details you need to know about the game…

Jessica Motaung, Kaizer Chiefs’ Marketing Director, underlined the cultural and historical importance of the fixture: “We are honoured to welcome our friends from Ghana… The Toyota Cup allows Africa to unite through football and is a celebration of our legacy.”

Asante Kotoko chairman Edmund Awuah Asafu‑Adjaye also shared his enthusiasm: “It is with great joy and anticipation that we come to South Africa for the 2025 edition of the Toyota Cup.… Football has always been a powerful bridge between people and nations.”
