It’s been a good couple of days for Kaizer Chiefs after a win over Stellenbosch, and things just got even better for the fans.
Chiefs believe they can land Cape Town Spurs winger Asanele Velebayi on a free transfer.
The 22-year-old star is now a free agent.
PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber rules on Velebayi
Long-standing Kaizer Chiefs target Asanele Velebayi will move for free this winter after Cape Town Spurs’ relegation to the National First Division.
“PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber has finally delivered a ruling on Asanele Velebayi, declaring him a free agent,” SABC Sport’s Mazola Molefe revealed.

You don’t get many better on-the-spot deals and discounts in South Africa than whipping out that nifty little orange card. Chiefs are potentially getting Velebayi on a free transfer and promising 19-year-old striker Luke Baartman for a snip, possibly as little as R3 million. What a deal! Velebayi made 23 appearances in the 2023-2024 Betway Premiership season. Striker Baartman made nine league appearances in the same season, scoring twice. Baartman has a massive ceiling and wouldn’t represent an enormous financial risk in terms of outlay.
