Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly actively working on bringing a rising Brazilian star to Naturena.

The Glamour Boys have a long season ahead of them which could likely include an action-packed CAF Confederation Cup schedule.

With the winter transfer window shutting close last week, Kaizer Chiefs are already focusing on the next window which opens in January!

The club however face a massive hurdle in the form of rivals Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates. Here’s all the key details below.

Kaizer Chiefs set for transfer duel with Pirates and Sundowns

Kaizer Chiefs were reportedly keen on signing 20-year-old Brazilian rising star Chiqueti.

The Glamour Boys, alongside Sundowns and Pirates are all interested in signing the attacking midfielder.

While all three clubs failed to reach an agreement with Athletico Paranaense, a thrilling January transfer tussle now looms.

“The 20-year-old playmaker was being shopped to the league’s biggest clubs, with Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns all reportedly approached by his representatives,” a Soccer Laduma report read.

“While this window’s efforts were unsuccessful, his representatives are expected to reignite talks in the January 2026 transfer window.”

Amakhosi’s best South Americans in the PSL era

A number of top South American players have featured for Kaizer Chiefs over the years.

Who can forget Jose Torrealba from Venezuela? What a striker indeed. Currently, Uruguayan Gaston Sirino is proving his work at Naturena.

Venezuelan star Edson Castillo enjoyed a short stint at Naturena. While his quality was visible in patches for Kaizer Chiefs, he ultimately struggled for consistency.

Leonardo Castro made a name for himself at Sundowns before joining the Glamour Boys. The Colombian did however enjoy some success for Chiefs, scoring 27 goals for the club.

Venezuelan Gustavo Paez was less prolific for the club, scoring just a handful of goals in his three-year spell at Naturena.

One player who really struggled was Efmamjjasond Gonzalez.
