Kaizer Chiefs transfer update: Sundowns blocked Amakhosi deal

Kaizer Chiefs are firing on all cylinders this season after signing smarty.

The Glamour Boys welcomed a host of new players in problem areas.

And now, new reports suggest the club made an approach for a Mamelodi Sundowns defender however they were turned away!

Kaizer Chiefs made an approach for Mashego

According to the latest transfer gossip, Kaizer Chiefs opened formal talks with Mamelodi Sundowns for out-of-favour defender Terrence Mashego.

The 29-year-old left-back has struggled to cement a place at Chloorkop. Last season, Mashego made just seven appearances for Mamelodi Sundowns across all competitions.

The former Cape Town City star has strongly been linked with an exit from Chloorkop. And now, reports suggest Kaizer Chiefs were keen on signing him earlier this year.

“Amakhosi reportedly made enquiries about his availability during the January transfer window, but their approach was turned down,” a Citizen report read.

The publication further claim Mashego wants to leave the club. A move to Durban City FC remains a high possibility.

In other news, Kaizer Chiefs are receiving R6 million per year from this municipality. Read all about it here.

Should Sundowns have sold Mashego to Chiefs?

Should Mamelodi Sundowns have sold Mashego to Kaizer Chiefs? Do you think Mashego will get any game-time at Chloorkop if he stays at the club?
