Kaizer Chiefs to stick with co-coaches, confirms Bobby Motaung

Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has set the record straight on the future of the co-coaches.

Since the departure of Nasreddine Nabi in October, Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze have taken the role of co-coaches until the end of the season.

The duo have had mixed results so far but Motaung insists the team is moving in the right direction and showing signs of improvement with the two coaches at the helm.

Kaizer Chiefs co-coaches not going anywhere

“We don’t want to disrupt the team by bringing in a new coach who will come in and want to do things differently from what we do,” said Motaung as per Isolezwe.

“Coaches want to do their own thing, they want to bring in their own team. These two guys have been in the team since the beginning and we are building on that. We want to move forward and I believe that the team is improving.”

In the past six years, Kaizer Chiefs have had eight coaches but none of them have improved the team. Ernst Middendorp came close to winning the league in 2020, but he was shown the door after that season.

Nabi won the club their first trophy in 10 years; however, he only lasted just 15 months before he was given the boot.

Ben Youssef and Kaze will need to turn things around in the coming months if they are to keep their jobs next season. Kaizer Chiefs fans have been patient with the two coaches and it is more likely to remain that case if they get more positive results in the second half of the season.

Should Chiefs get a new coach?
