Kaizer Chiefs are expected to reshuffle their squad once again in the upcoming summer January transfer window.
Up to half a dozen senior players are on the brink of leaving Naturena – for nothing.
However, fan-favourite Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has found favour with the coaching staff in 2025/26.
Kaizer Chiefs to ditch six senior stars
According to The Citizen, Kaizer Chiefs will offload several senior fringe players in January 2026.
Goalkeepers Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen, defender Dillan Solomons, midfielders Sibongiseni Mthethwa and Gaston Sirino, and attackers Pule Mmodi and Tashreeq Morris’ contracts are all expiring in June 2026.
Nkosingiphile Ngcobo’s deal also expires in June, but the club reportedly want to extend his terms. The 25-year-old has shrugged off recent injury struggles and become a key first-team player this term.
Fringe Kaizer Chiefs players could move in January
If they don’t extend terms with the club, Petersen, Bvuma, Solomons, Mthethwa, Sirino and Mmodi will all be free to talk to other clubs.
Meanwhile, midfield general Sibongiseni ‘Ox’ Mthethwa has experienced something of a renaissance this season.
The 31-year-old has played 11 league games and 1 397 minutes across all competitions.
Only Inacio Miguel has played more minutes out of all outfielders at the club.
Amakhosi staff might need to move quickly to extend Mthethwa’s deal. If not, they risk losing an experienced figure for free.
Winless run continues for Kaizer Chiefs
The Glamour Boys haven’t won a football match since a 4-1 success against Orbit College on 4 November 2025.
Co-managers Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze have drawn criticism for the club’s toothlessness in attack.
Who should Kaizer Chiefs turn to for a full-time managerial role?
