Kaizer Chiefs to finally welcome R20 million star

Kaizer Chiefs have received a timely boost following the Fifa international break!

A marquee new signing’s paperwork has been sorted out and he’s now set to jet into the country!

Chiefs sent shockwaves through the country when they ‘announced’ the acquisition of Khanyisa Mayo on loan from CR Belouizdad.

Mayo however has still been in Algeria since the announcement which was made a whole two weeks ago.

Mayo to finally report for duty at Kaizer Chiefs

Khanyisa Mayo will soon don the famous Amakhosi jersey!

The former Cape Town City star has reportedly finally received his necessary travel documents in Algeria, after a two-week delay.

According to Soccer Laduma, Mayo has been cleared to travel back to South Africa!

He can now fully shift his focus to Kaizer Chiefs, who’ll need him firing on all cylinders from the get-go!

Mayo was on the books of Algerian giants CR Belouizdad, however the club opted against registering him for the 2025/26 campaign.

He made 41 appearances for the Algerian side, scoring six goals while assisting one more.

The Bafana Bafana striker joins on loan however, Kaizer Chiefs have the option to make the deal permanent.

Mayo is valued at a whopping R20 million, should Chiefs wish to sign at the end of the season.

Last season, the Glamour Boys struggled bitterly in front of goal, scoring just 25 goals in 28 league matches. Mayo is expected to remedy the situation at Naturena, alongside the likes of Etioso Ighodaro and Flavio Silva.
