Kaizer Chiefs FC will have to pay fellow Betway Premiership side Sekhukhune United an approximate R530 000.

According to the latest transfer reports, the Amakhosi suffered a huge net-loss on former captain Yusuf Maart.

Maart joined the Glamour Boys back in 2022 for a few rumoured to be in region of R6 million.

Maart grew to become one of the club’s most important players and donned the captain’s armband last season.

Now, according to the latest reports, Kaizer Chiefs sold Yusuf Maart to Austrian side SV Ried for a mere R2.6 million.

On top of that, Sekhukhune United had a sell-on clause of 20% with the Amakhosi. What this means is that approximately R530 000 needs to paid to Babina Noko, as per FARPost.

In total, Kaizer Chiefs have suffered a near R4 million loss on the entire transfer deal.

Maart made a total of 95 appearances for the Glamour Boys. He scored seven goals for the club while assisting eight more.

He will however go down in the club’s history for ending their lengthy trophy drought! The Kaizer Chiefs captain guided his side to last season’s Nedbank Cup title.
