Kaizer Chiefs fans have threatened this Amakhosi player with his life.
In a shocking statement, Kaizer Chiefs striker Wandile Duba has confirmed receiving death threats from Amakhosi fans.
So, let’s find out what was said and how the Amakhosi striker is feeling.
CHIEFS STRIKER RECEIVES DEATH THREAT
Duba confirmed these grotesque threats from Chiefs fans.
“It doesn’t affect me; it’s just the comments people are threatening to kill me, and in the last game [against Golden Arrows], I wasn’t in the right state of mind, so I didn’t even go to play,”
“These things don’t frustrate me that much, so I usually just talk to my brother, and he always guides me. At times, I feel like sending a text back after getting a negative comment or someone swearing at me,” Duba astated on FarPost.
Initially, it affected Duba so much that he did not play. However, he has started not to let it get to him, having held discussions with his brother.
Such threats are unacceptable in football, sport and in general.
AMAKHOSI DROP OVER 70 PLACES IN AFRICA
Chiefs have dropped over 70 places in the latest Club Rankings in Africa.
This comes despite their recent momentum. Under the tutelage of Amakhosi assistants Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze, Chiefs have kick-started their PSL campaign in fine style.
Amakhosi are unbeaten with three wins and a draw from four matches. Meanwhile, their draw came against reigning, defending BetWay Premiership champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.
Ultimately, the rankings were deeply affected due to Chiefs’ failure to qualify for any continental tournaments last season. In comparison, Sundowns and Pirates have climbed up the latest club rankings substantially.
