Kaizer Chiefs sign Orlando Pirates, Sundowns rejects

Kaizer Chiefs have enjoyed a shopping spree this winter by signing players from Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and the rest of the league.

The Glamour Boys have a new-look attack, including former Sundowns man Etiosa Ighodaro.

Ex-Pirates full-backs Thabiso Monyane and Paseka Mako bring experience to the cause.

Kaizer Chiefs raid Orlando Pirates and Sundowns

Kaizer Chiefs have roped in Thabiso Monyane, Paseka Mako and Etiosa Ighodaro into their new-look project. Monyane and Mako were both seemingly surplus to requirements at Orlando Pirates in the fullback positions, while Nigerian marksman Ighodaro spent last season out on loan with AmaZulu. Can this misfit trio kickstart their respective careers? Monyane has started all three league matches this term, and next up is a clash with Sundowns, where 24-year-old Ighodaro could make a debut.

When is Chiefs vs Sundowns?

Chiefs host Sundowns on Wednesday, 27 August at FNB Stadium with kickoff at 19:30. The Glamour Boys have started the campaign perfectly with three wins from three league outings against Stellenbosch, Polokwane and Richards Bay, teeing them up nicely for a clash with Sundowns. Here’s how their XI could look with Etiosa Ighodaro potentially leading the line:

Can Monyane, Mako and Ighodaro take Chiefs to the next level?
