Kaizer Chiefs set to secure goalkeeper’s future with new deal

Kaizer Chiefs have wasted no time in planning for the future, with the club already opening contract negotiations for crucial squad members whose deals run out in June 2026.

According to a source, Amakhosi have set the wheels in motion to retain the services of first-choice goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma, as part of a broader mission to lock down their core players at Naturena.

Bvuma in line for new two-year deal

A well-placed insider confirmed that Chiefs have launched formal talks with Bvuma, aiming to extend his stay beyond the current contract.

“Bruce Bvuma is one of the goalkeepers the club still wants to keep beyond his contract in June 2026. That’s why talks between all the involved parties have started. They are believed to be working on tying down as many players as they can, and he is one of them with whom talks have started,” the source revealed.

The proposed deal on the table includes a two-year contract extension. That would keep Bvuma at the club until June 2028. Chiefs believe the 30-year-old shot-stopper can continue playing a pivotal role in their push for silverware during the next three seasons.

Chiefs to lock down experience and leadership

Since his promotion to the senior side in 2016. Bvuma has steadily grown into a dependable figure in the Amakhosi camp. Club officials now see him as an important part of their leadership group. And want him to remain integral to their plans well into the future.

With just one year left on his current deal, the potential extension comes at a crucial time. As Chiefs look to reinforce consistency and experience within the dressing room.

Does the Kaizer Chiefs star deserve an extension on his current contract?
