Kaizer Chiefs have landed back in South Africa after an intense two-week pre-season training camp in the Netherlands, where the team played a series of friendly matches to fine-tune their preparations for the 2025/2026 season.

A source revealed that both the technical staff and club management feel pleased with how the squad performed and behaved throughout their European tour.

‘Exciting pre-season’ lays foundation for ambitious season

The source couldn’t hide their enthusiasm about the club’s progress during the camp.

“We had a very exciting pre-season, I must say. It was a great space for the team to be in so that coaches can strategise and players blend in and connect. The type of teams we played was great competition. It was very important that we expose our team, and we are excited about the work that was done with a great opportunity for the new guys to integrate. It was also good for our youth to come in and show their hunger. So, it was successful in terms of the playing style and for the technical team to get some work done,” the source stated.

That glowing review highlights the positive energy within the camp and the team’s desire to improve on last season’s underwhelming performance.

New Chiefs signings blending in

Chiefs’ European tour focused on tactical refinement and building squad cohesion. The technical team used the trip to test various combinations, help new arrivals settle in, and give promising youngsters a chance to shine.

The source noted that the quality of opposition during friendlies added great value. Which helped the squad raise their game and adopt the desired playing style under new leadership.

Transfer activity not over yet

While Kaizer Chiefs have already brought in new faces. The recruitment door remains open. The source hinted that the club still seeks to strengthen their attacking options before the season kicks off.
