Posted on January 7, 2026

Kaizer Chiefs’ head of scouting and recruitment, Thembela Maliwa, has once again won the supporters’ hearts and confidence.

The celebrated talent spotter shared a list of players he previously identified while working across the African continent in previous years.

THEMBELA MALIWA CREATES EXCITEMENT ON X

Maliwa, who joined Kaizer Chiefs from Mamelodi Sundowns on 29 August 2024, posted the list on X.

He revealed players he scouted between 2017 and 2021 during his travels across Africa.

Several of the players later secured moves to clubs in Europe, North Africa and the United States.

“One of the best feelings as a scout is to monitor and see players you have scouted moving to better leagues and clubs,” the Kaizer Chiefs scout said.

“These are the boys I scouted from 2017–2021 while travelling around Africa. Then started a new list 2022–2024 that I can’t share,” he added with a smiling emoji.
