Kaizer Chiefs reveal Khayisa Mayo’s jersey number

Kaizer Chiefs new signing Khanyisa Mayo win don the number 3 jersey this season, the club confirmed.

The 27-year-old striker joined Amakhosi on loan from CR Belouizdad of Algeria. Mayo left Cape Town City for North Africa last year but did not have a great first season, only managing to score four goals in 27 outings.

Before his move to CR Belouizdad, the talented forward was linked with a move to Chiefs but the North Africans beat the Soweto giants to the signing of the Bafana Bafana striker.

“It is a dream come true. The only team I would come back for is Kaizer Chiefs,” Mayo told the club’s media.

“The Club has a great history. My father is part of that great history, so I wanted to play for the biggest team in the country, in Africa, in the world, I can say, because Kaizer Chiefs is the biggest team in the world to me.”

Kaizer Chiefs announced Mayo last week

The Soweto giants announced Mayo last week but the striker is yet to make his debut. On Saturday, Chiefs revealed that the ex-Cape Town City star would wear the number 3 jersey.

Beside Mayo, Kaizer Chiefs have signed two other strikers; Flavio Silva and Etiosa Ighodaro.

Do you think Mayo should start on his debut?
