Kaizer Chiefs: Midfielder and defender sign for PSL rivals

Posted on September 23, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs have sent out two more players on loan.

Kaizer Chiefs have sent out a midfielder and defender on loan to PSL rivals.

Both players have joined Siwelele FC for the 2025/26 BetWay Premiership.

CHIEFS LOAN OUT DUO TO SIWELELE

As reported on The South African, Chiefs have sent Samkelo Zwane and Hapoy Mashiane on loan to Siwelele for the season.

“On Monday, the deadline day, 22 September, the two clubs finalised a loan deal that will see Zwane and Mashiane play for the newly acquired team for the remainder of the 2025/26 season. Siwelele, looking to strengthen their squad for the season, could benefit from the pair’s arrival,” FarPost reported.

Zwane will bolster Siwelele’s midfield. However, it is unclear how he will be used by Lehlohonolo Seema.

“Zwane is expected to bolster the team’s midfield options, though it remains to be seen where coach Lehlohonolo Seema will deploy him. Mashiane, on the other hand, will provide valuable versatility,” they added.

Meaning, Zwane and Mashiane become Chiefs’ 12th and 13th departures, respectively.

Both deals were wrapped up on transfer deadline day.

MASHIANE TO PROVIDE COVER FOR AMAJITA STAR

Amajita has called up Rapoo to the U20 national side for the upcoming U20 World Cup.

“With their first-choice left back, Neo Rapoo, travelling to the FIFA Under-20 World Cup, Siwelele needed cover in that position. Mashiane’s arrival offers a solution, as he can play as a left back in addition to his natural position as an attacking winger. Siwelele also has Aphiwe Baliti as another option at left back,” the same publication added.

So, Mashiane will have a chance to play more frequently at Siwelele. At Chiefs, he played second fiddle to the likes of Paseka Mako and Bradley Cross. Meanwhile, the acquisition of Nkanyiso Shinga places Mashiane even further down the pecking order,

Therefore, this move was in the best interest of both parties. For Mashiane, he will get more regular playing time. Whilst Amakhosi can let him grow and mature as a player.
