Kaizer Chiefs are preparing for a mammoth Betway Premiership clash with Sundowns, and several players could miss out.

However, Flavio Silva could make a debut after receiving international clearance.

Here’s the latest.

Predicted Chiefs XI vs Sundowns

Kaze provides Kaizer Chiefs fitness update

Amakhosi assistant boss Cedric Kaze has provided a fitness update on the eve of the Betway Premiership clash with Sundowns. Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro will miss out against his former club, while there are doubts over a few players in the camp after a flu bug. Aden McCarthy picked up a knock against Richards Bay and is a doubt. Flavio Silva, meanwhile, is available after receiving international clearance.

“Ighodaro was injured in training two days ago,” said Kaze.

“I am sure everyone has noticed that we have something like the flu going on, but we hope on Wednesday we will be good,” he added.

“Aden has not trained since that day (he got injured). The medical staff are working very hard to get him back on the field. But we will have to see how he does tomorrow to decide whether he will be part of the game or not.

“(Nkanyiso) Shinga and (Bradley) Cross have been sick in the last two days.”
