Kaizer Chiefs first-team player wanted by rival club

A fellow Betway Premiership side have confirmed their interest in a struggling Kaizer Chiefs first-team attacker.

The Glamour Boys have significantly bolstered their attack for this season.

Nasreddine Nabi welcomed Luke Baartman, Khanyisa Mayo, Flavio Silva and Etioso Ighodaro to Naturena.

Last season, Nabi’s Kaizer Chiefs managed to score just 25 goals in 28 league matches, prompting the club to dip heavily into the transfer market for attackers.

Durban City confirm talks with Kaizer Chiefs for Morris

31-year-old striker Tashreeq Morris is a wanted man in Kwa-Zulu Natal.

The Amakhosi striker joined the club in January however he has failed to have any real impact at the club.

Morris is yet to score or assist in 10 appearances for the club.

And now, Durban City FC boss Farouk Kadodia has confirmed that his side have made an approach to Kaizer Chiefs for Morris.

“Look, we had that interest, but there are some delays. I don’t know what are the delays from Chiefs,” Kadodia told Soccer Laduma.

“We expressed our interest to show that we want him, and we are looking for Kaizer Chiefs to finalise. We are waiting for Chiefs now. We have expressed our interest, and now the ball is in the court of Chiefs.”

Should Chiefs allow Morris to leave on loan?

Will Kaizer Chiefs need Morris this season? The Glamour Boys have roped in quality attackers. However, given their CAF Confederations Cup duties, do you think they’ll need a striker like Morris?
