Posted on September 25, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef has explained why Ethan Chislett and Nkanyiso Shinga are yet to make their debuts.

The duo are among the 11 new players that the club signed during the transfer window. Both Chislett and Shinga were part of the team’s pre-season in the Netherlands in July but haven’t featured this season.

Following Amakhosi’s recent poor form, some fans have asked for the inclusion of the two players. Ben Youssef had told the media that Shinga and Chislett will get theeir opportunities very soon.

“With Shinga and Ethan, both of them are with us, they are training and we as coaches, we know when will be the right moments to introduce them in the team, they keep working with good attitude in training, very good performances in training,” Ben Youssef said as per iDiski Times.

“We are waiting until the best moment to introduce them in the team.”

Ben Youssef has been a caretaker coach for Kaizer Chiefs in the absence of Nasreddine Nabi. In the four league matches he’s been in charge, the assistant coach has bagged in 10 points from a possible 12. With Nabi’s future uncertain, it seems as if Amakhosi will go with Ben Youssef for the coming weeks if not months.

The Glamour Boys have signed 11 new players with Khanyisa Mayo being the latest player to be brought to Naturena. The 27-year-old netted on debut for Chiefs during their 1-1 draw with Marumo Gallants on Wednesday evening.

With seven matches played, Kaizer Chiefs will need to make a decision on their coach. No one knows if Nabi will continue his role as head coach in the coming weeks.
