After Kaizer Chiefs’ mixed and inconsistent first half of the season, the timing of the trip has sparked curiosity and lively discussion among supporters.
Kaizer Motaung Jr spent the past week in Qatar, where he attended the Arab Cup clash between Morocco and Jordan.
“Great to see 85 000 fans cheering at the Arab Cup Final between Morocco vs Jordan. Congratulations to Morocco for the historic victory,” he said.

Although the club didn’t reveal the purpose of the visit, Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr attended FIFA’s prestigious The Best Awards. Alongside him was sister, Jessica Motaung, the club’s Marketing and Communications Director.
KAIZER CHIEFS’ MIXED RESULTS
Head coach Nasreddine Nabi mutually parted ways with the club in October. Oddly, the club entrusted his assistants, Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze, to lead the technical team as caretaker managers for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.
Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs were somewhat decent in first half of the season before the current Afcon 2025 break. Amakhosi currently sit in fourth place with 24 points from 13 matches, just four points behind leaders Orlando Pirates.
The improved form was made possible by a strong defence. Amakhosi recorded six wins, six draws, and just one loss in the league. Goalkeeper Brandon Petersen achieved nine clean sheets in 13 matches.
However, the club has had a poor start to their CAF Confederation Cup run. They’re in third place in Group D without a win after two matches.
Their group stage began with a 2-1 away loss to Al Masry SC on November 23, 2025. Game two was a 1-1 home draw against Zamalek SC on November 29, 2025. It left Kaizer Chiefs with just one point in the continental competition.
