Kaizer Chiefs are still the biggest club in Mzansi

Kaizer Chiefs fans are riding the crest of a wave after success in 2024-2025 and a great start to the 2025-2026 campaign.

Supporters sound bullish.

There’s also more cash coming into the club.

R16 million injection proves Chiefs are still a massive drawcard

Polokwane Municipality’s Sports and Recreation Manager, Mantlako Sebaka, has defended the authority’s decision to lease Peter Mokaba Stadium to Kaizer Chiefs.  Amakhosi and the municipality have entered into a R16 million deal, seeing Chiefs bring six matches over the next two campaigns to the 45,000-seater stadium.

“Apart from the six matches over two seasons as representative of Limpopo in the Premier League (PSL), we will still bring Chiefs here to honour their three away league matches,” Sebaka told Sunday World.

“As the Polokwane municipality, we regard sports tourism as one of the pillars of growth. And as we all know, Chiefs have a huge following. Bringing them here in Polokwane is in line with what we want to achieve,” he added.

A good start to 2025-2026 for the mighty Kaizer Chiefs

Goodwill with the fans is at a high right now. Chiefs beat Orlando Pirates last season to claim the Nedbank Cup, their first silverware for a decade, and they’re unbeaten in four league outings this term. Three wins and a goalless draw represent a superb start, but now expectations are higher and Nabi’s men must maintain their standards. Next up is a trip to Golden Arrows on Saturday, 30 August, with kickoff at 17:30. Arrows have made an impressive start to the campaign with seven points from 12.

Let’s also not forget the club’s 55 trophies in their storied history, including 13 league crowns. They’re also, by far and away, the most followed club in the land.

Chiefs are ‘killing football’ according to disgusted boss

Will Kaizer Chiefs beat Arrows to stay at the summit of the Betway Prem?
