Kaizer Chiefs announcement: Five youngsters leave

Posted on January 31, 2026

Kaizer Chiefs announced that Sfiso Timba, Vicky Mkhawana, Ofentse Kgosana, Manqoba Ozoemena and Nkosana Mbuthu have all been loaned out to different clubs, with the aim of gaining regular minutes and exposure to senior football.

Timba has joined Gomora United, while Mkhawana will continue his development at Kruger United FC. Defenders Kgosana and the midfielder Ozoemena have both moved to Casric Stars, a side known for giving young players responsibility early, while Mbuthu heads to Leicesterford City.

BETWAY PREMIERSHIP LOANS

Samkelo Zwane (central midfielder) and Mashiane (left back) were first to join the Betway Premiership’s Siwelele FC before the start of the season.

Sabelo Radebe (central midfielder) was also loaned to Richards Bay FC in the Betway Premiership was deemed surplus to requirements. The winger Donay Jansen faced a similar fate before returning to the Kaizer Chiefs DDC team.

The club have also gone international. The dynamic centre back Sima Bobo has joined Mochudi Centre Chiefs in Botswana. Xolani Cossa, who plays as a left-sided central defender, is also in the same country with Black Lions.

KAIZER CHIEFS RESERVE TEAM SUCCESS

The young Amakhosi are the current holders of the DDC after becoming champions last season. They ended a decade-long wait for the reserve league trophy.

The Soweto giants secured the title with a game to spare in April 2025 following a clinical 3-0 victory over Magesi FC. They eventually concluded the season with a staggering 70 points, the highest points tally ever recorded in the DD, finishing seven points ahead of their nearest rivals, Stellenbosch FC.

Under the guidance of their technical team, the Kaizer Chiefs Reserves displayed unprecedented consistency, recording 22 wins and suffering only two defeats across 30 fixtures.
