Kaizer Chiefs announce 22 players traveling to Egypt

Posted on November 20, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs are officially rolling into their CAF Confederation Cup group-stage campaign.

The Soweto giants have named a 22-player squad as they head to Egypt for their opening test: an away game at the Suez Stadium against Al Masry on Sunday, 23 November, kicking off at 18:00.

CAF CONFEDERATION CUP: AL-MASRY VS KAIZER CHIEFS

In Group D, Amakhosi will battle it out with Al Masry, Zamalek (also from Egypt), and Zesco United from Zambia. Only the top two teams in the group make it through to the quarter-finals.

Kaizer Chiefs head into the showdown on the back of three consecutive wins in all competitions,
including the 3-1 win over AS Simba in the previous round and a 4-1 victory over Orbit College
in the Betway Premiership.

Al-Masry are coming off three goalless draws and a 2-1 win over Al-Ittihad in the second round
qualifiers of this event.

The travelling squad to face Al-Masry, known as The Green Eagles, includes three missing names that should raise eyebrows. Gaston Sirino, Glody Lilepo and Reeve Frosler were not expected to be left out, while Khanyisa Mayo stays sidelined through injury.

“I’m very excited. This is the African stage. It’s where we want to be,” the club’s Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr, told the club’s media. ““We’re expecting a tough test in Egypt, which is well known for its passion for football. ..”
