Junior Makes Mbule-Pirates Claim After Stellar Bafana Performance

Posted on October 16, 2025

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger analyst Junior Khanye has heaped huge praise on Bafana Bafana midfielder Sipho Mbule after another great shift in the middle of the park.

Mbule seems to have shaken off his off-field issues that had briefly derailed his career which saw Mamelodi Sundowns part ways with him.

His move to Orlando Pirates came with a lot of scepticism because of his previous antics but the ‘Master Chef’ has once again found his feet and has consistently delivered whenever given the chance by head coach Hugo Broos.

Khanye was not short of praise for Mbule who he says deserves a regular starting berth at Pirates as well after playing a key role as Broos’ charges swept aside Rwanda 3-0 to book a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in USA, Mexico and Canada.

“Well done to Sipho Mbule for always raising his hand in the national team even though he’s not playing at Pirates,” he said on iDiski TV.

“I think he proved to everybody that he deserves to play even at Pirates. This guy is a star.

“Because he hardly loses the ball. When you play in the middle of the park, it’s congested with traffic. That’s what makes him a playmaker.”
