Junior Makes Bold Rele Claim After Pirates Loss

iDiski TV analyst Junior Khanye reckons that Orlando Pirates starlet Relebohile Mofokeng has mentally been affected following Mohau Nkota’s transfer to Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League.

Mofokeng was thought to have attracted interest from a host of overseas clubs after being one of the standout performers after stellar back-to-back seasons aiding the Buccaneers to MTN8 and Nedbank Cup triumphs.

Khanye has now since made a bold claim that Mofokeng is psychologically affected following his dismal performance in their 1-0 defeat to Sekhukhune United on Saturday.

“I think the fact that Nkota arrived and left [overseas] after his first season has affected him [Rele],” he told iDiski TV.

“I’m a human; I’m black. I know other people will say, ‘the player is getting paid very well’, but for me I know I’ve been a footballer before, it has affected the boy. They can say whatever they want.

“Whoever say what, it’s not easy for him to accept that [Nkota is overseas].

“This boy was the face of Orlando Pirates as a youngster figure, so for another boy to arrive who was maybe second best to him, and then leave, it has affected him psychologically.

“He’s not himself.”
