John Comitis Regrets Signing Makaringe, Serero, and Mokotjo

John Comitis, Cape Town City chairman, admits he made a mistake by signing high-profile players like Fortune Makaringe, Thulani Serero, and Kamohelo Mokotjo.

“I regret bringing in big names from top clubs and offering them high salaries, thinking they would deliver,” Comitis said. “I expected them to mentor the younger players, but it didn’t happen. It was like mixing water and oil—they just didn’t blend.”

He added that the team’s performance declined as a result. Now, Comitis is reviewing his squad and plans to release some of these players.
