Former Bafana Bafana defender Pierre Issa has been appointed as part of the technical team of Italian outfit Sanremese Calcio.
The 50-year-old former SA centre-back has been roped in alongside France legend Christian Karembeu who won the 1998 World Cup with France and two UEFA Champions League titles with Real Madrid.

Despite only being known by many during Bafana’s disastrous 1998 World Cup campaign, Issa was actually born in Germiston and moved to France at the tender age of just 11.
He hung up his boots in 2006, having feature 47 times for South Africa before going on to work as a football director for several clubs, including Greek football giants Olympiacos.
