‘I told you’ – Khanye nails prediction as Chiefs crash out of CAF

Posted on February 15, 2026

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye has responded after successfully predicting that Amakhosi would be eliminated from the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Soweto giants lost 2-1 to Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek in the group stages, which left them in third place in their group. As a result of this defeat, Chiefs are out of the competition, finishing behind Zamalek and Al Masry.

Last week, the outspoken analyst had predicted that Amakhosi would crash out, despite them being at the top of their group at the time. “Why aren’t they playing last week’s clip where I was asked if Chiefs would make it out?” Khanye jokingly inquired.

He felt the Egyptian giants were superior and it was just a matter of time before the Soweto giants were exposed in the tournament.

“Sometimes in life, luck runs out, i’ll be honest with you. I will compliment Kaizer Chiefs for reaching the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup and pushing Zamalek until the end. They tried their best, but it was not meant to be,” Khanye said on iDiski TV.

He urged his former club to seek a new coach for next season.

“I think it’s about time Chiefs change the two coaches,” Khanye argues.

“I don’t care who says what but [they need new players and coach]. When they win, their fans are happy but when you look at how they win, it’s not convincing.”

Last week, the former winger predicted that his former side will lose to Egypt and also tipped Al Masry to defeat ZESCO United.

Khanye gets another Chiefs prediction correct

“For me it’s going to be difficult,” said Khanye on iDiski TV.

“Kaizer Chiefs will go there for a draw, it’s going to be difficult, they won’t get it. Zamalek are going to win at home.

“I know Chiefs have two extra goal advantage and ZESCO won’t hurt Al Masry in Egypt. Al Masry and Zamalek are going to the quarter-finals. Al Masry must score two goals.”

Is Junior a Chiefs hater or is he just being brutally honest?
