Hunt On New Signings After CRB Defeat

Posted on January 27, 2026

Stellenbosch FC coach Gavin Hunt says their home match against CR Belouizdad will be a totally different game and is likely to feature new faces from his side.

Hunt’s comments come on the back of Stellies’ 2-0 defeat to the Algerian side in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday in Group C, a result that saw the South Africans in second place with four points, two points from CRB just above them from three outings.

Hunt highlighted other factors like the weather that will be in Stellies’ favour plus players he’s looking to sign before the January transfer window closes to help their course in the continental competition.

“Look the next match will be a totally different game,” said Hunt.

“It will be played in the afternoon in very hot conditions which will suit us. We are not used to playing in these conditions. So, it will be totally different we’ll have three, four players signed by then as well.

“Obviously our window is open in our league, so we are looking to strengthen, and those players are back training there.

“So, they’ll definitely come into the squad, you know Mamelodi Sundowns players three, four players of them, we’ll be a better team that’s for sure.”
