Hunt Finds Silver Lining In KZN Derby Loss

Durban City coach Gavin Hunt has revealed a silver lining they found from the defeat against AmaZulu in the KZN derby over the weekend.

‘The Citizens’ conceded a late goal, losing 1-0 to Usuthu in the Betway Premiership at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

This defeat marked their third league loss of the season. With four wins and three draws from ten matches, ‘The Citizens’ currently sit fifth in the standings with 15 points.

Hunt stated that the positive takeaway from the defeat was that it clearly showed the team what they need to improve before their next Carling Knockout Cup clash against Richards Bay FC.

“I don’t think it affects much, it’s another game, another competition,” said Hunt during the post-match press conference.

“They [Richards Bay] lost also last night [Friday] [to Orbit College], we lost also today. I don’t know if we gonna fix anything.

“It just gives us a few things that we need to be better at, just footballing things. You can’t tackle all these things in three months, it takes time.

“But we will do that.”
