How Orlando Pirates can win R100 million this season

With R10 million in the bag, Orlando Pirates are now on track to earn over R100 million this year, should they win more cup competitions.

Having defeated Stellenbosch 3-0 in the MTN8 final, the Buccaneers have once again started the season with a trophy. For the past three seasons, the Sea Robbers have won the MTN8 and it was no different this time around.

Under new head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, some fans felt Pirates would struggle for a few month,s but it seems the team is now even stronger than last season.

How can Orlando Pirates earn over R100 million?

If the Buccaneers win the CAF Champions League, they will walk away with an impressive $4 million, equivalent to R74.4 million in South African rand. Another cup win and a Betway Premiership top two finish could see them make R100 million.

The Betway Premiership prize money is R20 million, and should Ouaddou’s men win both the CAF CL and the league, they would earn an astonishing R104.4 million and secure a continental treble. Even if they don’t win the league, two cup wins and a Champions League triumph will see them win over R100 million this season.

Orlando Pirates will now turn their focus on the league, Carling Knockout and CAF Champions League preliminary stages. They are in action this coming weekend.
