Here’s Kaizer Chiefs’ 39-man squad

Posted on September 25, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs have closed the transfer window with a flurry of activity, following their first trophy in 10 years after beating Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final in June.

Despite that glory, expectations were high to strengthen a squad that finished a disappointing 9th in the Betway Premiership, missing out on the MTN8.

The squad overhaul began with exits. Nine players left, including early departures of Sabelo Radebe and Mduduzi Mdantsane, while Samkelo Zwane and Happy Mashiane joined Siwelele FC on loan this week.

On the incoming side, the Phefeni Glamour Boys made 12 exciting signings, with Khanyisa Mayo immediately standing out.

Kabelo Nkgwesa, Thulani Mabaso, and Naledi Hlongwane were promoted from the youth ranks, with Hlongwane the only one to have made an appearance so far, coming off the bench in the 2-0 win over Stellenbosch on the first day of the season.

Full Kaizer Chiefs squad

The shake-up gives the club fresh energy and depth across every position, and the squad now sits at 39 players.

With this 39-man squad, the technical team has plenty of options to rotate and strengthen the team as Kaizer Chiefs aim to climb the Betway Premiership table, compete in the Carling Knockout, Nedbank Cup and CAF Confederation Cup.

The club can still make signings outside the transfer window, but only players who are without clubs, also known as free agents.
