Guinea international and Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Mohamed Camara has claimed interest from Kaizer Chiefs.

Camara was in South Africa a few weeks ago when Asante Kotoko played Amakhosi in the Toyota Cup in Durban.

On the day, Camara saved four penalties as Asante Kotoko went on to lift the trophy in front of a packed Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Now, talking to Africa Foot this week, Camara revealed that Chiefs approached him after the game and inquired about his availability.

And the 25-year-old ‘keeper referred them to Asante Kotoko whom he is still contracted to for another season.

As things stand, Chiefs have Brandon Petersen, Bruce Bvuma, Fiacre Ntwari and Bontle Molefe as their goalkeepers.

However, should they really be interested in Camara, then they will have to act fast as the lanky goalkeeper said there are other teams keen on signing him.

KAIZER CHIEFS SET SIGHTS ON GUINEA ‘KEEPER CAMARA?

“I was approached after our friendly match. They appreciated my performance, especially the four penalties saved,” said Camara.

“We had a long conversation. I told them to contact my club, as I still have a one-year contract.

“It’s nice to see the interest from a historic club like Kaizer Chiefs.”

“There are other clubs in Morocco and two in Europe who have also contacted me for information, but nothing concrete yet.

“I am ready to see out my contract. For now, there is no question of an extension. I am keeping my head up and working even harder to have a better season,” he concluded.
