Gould – Mbule Needs To Show The Country What He’s Capable Of

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Morgan Gould has urged Orlando Pirates playmaker Sipho Mbule to remind South Africa what he is capable of.

Mbule joined the Sea Robbers at the start of this season with much said about his off-the-field issues that were alleged to be the reason he was released by former side Mamelodi Sundowns. He has so far featured in five matches for Pirates in all competitions including the MTN8 semi-final tie against his former side where he scored a penalty in their 2nd leg victory en route to advancing to the final.

Gould spoke to iDiski Times Editor Rob Delport in edition 218 of the newspaper where he said he is excited for Mbule and as soon as the 27-year old’s muscle memory kicks in, he will shine again.

“He needs to also show the country, I know personally, what he is capable of,” Gould told iDiski Times.

“And he’s going to show that, it’s just right now, it’s a point of muscle memory. And muscle memory is important in football. If you don’t have the match minutes in the legs, things tend to go south for the time being, but the moment he gets that sharpness and that alertness of playing at the high tempo, playing big games in front of sold-out crowds, he definitely has something.

“Because if I can take you back, his first goal that he scored for SuperSport, it was against TP Mazembe, Lubumbashi, a packed stadium, and he scored a scorcher.

“And you could just tell that the kid is one for the big occasions.”
