Good or bad news for Chiefs?

Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef had confirmed that head coach Nasreddine Nabi will return to the club in the coming days.

The 60-year-old left camp earlier this month to be with his wife in Tunisia. He has since missed Amakhosi’s opening three Betway Premiership matches without conceding a single goal.

In Nabi’s absence, the team has also revealed three new signings. Etiosa Ighodaro, Luke Baartman and Asanele Velebayo were unveiled as Kaizer Chiefs players this week but the trio did not feature in Amakhosi’s 1-0 win over Richards Bay on Tuesday.

Nabi to return to Kaizer Chiefs

Ben Youssef told the media this week that Nasreddine Nabi should return to South Africa before the Mamelodi Sundowns clash.

“Coach Nabi will be with us this week to prepare for the game against Sundowns,” he said.

In terms of the team’s performance on Tuesday, Ben Youssef praised his defence.

“I think that’s the most important thing for us, we are so happy about our defence [three games, 0 conceded],” he said.

“We discussed about even in the cup about our defence. We need to be more strong; we can’t accept that one of the biggest teams in South Africa concedes more goals.”

With Nabi returning to Kaizer Chiefs, it remains to be seen if the Glamour Boys will maintain the form. The Tunisian coach led Amakhosi to their first cup win in 10 years, but his side finished ninth in the Betway Premiership.

Will Nabi continue with the winning momentum?
