Good news on four Kaizer Chiefs players

Kaizer Chiefs are heading into their next Betway Premiership match in better shape, with four players who started the season on the sidelines now ready for action.

Coach Nasreddine Nabi is yet to return from Tunisia for a family emergency, but assistant coach Cedric Kaze has offered a significant squad boost ahead of the clash with Polokwane City.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, the Burundina mentor confirmed that four players have become available for selection.

First up, former Orlando Pirates defender Paseka Mako has fully recovered from a broken arm and is now cleared by medical staff. The injury forced him out of the pre-season tour, the Toyota Cup, and the opener against Stellenbosch FC.

Then there’s Ethan Chisllet. The dynamic midfielder missed that first game, too. His South African passport is sorted, and he’s officially registered as a local player.

There’s more. Pule Mmodi returns from suspension, and Ashley Du Preez, who picked up a minor knock, is fit again.

“The good thing is that we didn’t have any injuries from the last game or suspensions,” Kaze told the media. “We are going to have a couple of players back from different setbacks. Mmodi is back from his suspension, and Ethan is available for selection after his paper has been resolved. Mako, as well, is available for selection after being cleared by the medical staff. I think that we are in a very good space for tomorrow’s game [Wednesday night at the FNB Stadium at 19:30].

Kaze added: “It’s our first home game in front of our fans, and we know what we’ve been lacking from last season, the consistency. This is why tomorrow’s game for us is very important.

“We are very focused, everyone, the players, the technical staff, the management. We know the importance of tomorrow’s game,” concluded Kaze.
