Liverpool attacker Cody Gakpo has admitted that a move to Bayern Munich almost happened though he ultimately ended up extending his stay at Anfield.

The 25-year-old Dutch international signed a new long-term deal until 20230 and revealed that he wanted to continue his career with the Reds who eventually signed Luis Diaz.

“Bayern tried to sign me, there were talks… but in the end, they decided to go for Luis Diaz,” he told ESPN.
