Former Bucs midfielder Joseph Kamwendo has landed a job at Zimbabwe’s CAPS United.

The Malawian midfielder will act as United’s Head of Development as well as a second assistant coach to their senior team.

“I am Head of development and also second assistant coach for the main team,” Kamwendo himself told Soccer Laduma.

Just last week, another former Orlando Pirates star was also announced at a South African club.

Thabo Mngomeni joined AmaZulu’s Diski Challenge side in an assistant capacity.

Mngomeni was most recently part of the South African U-17 coaching setup. The national Under-17 team qualified for the 2025 World Cup in Qatar. Mngomeni acted as an assistant coach to Vela Khumalo at the tournament.

Thabo Mngomeni has been roped in to help Usuthu with their ‘Project 32’.

The Orlando Pirates legend will play a major role in guiding the club’s reserve players and getting them ready for professional football.

Mngomeni made just under 100 appearances for the Buccaneers during his playing days. He was also a key midfielder for Bafana Bafana in the late 90’s and early 2000’s.
