Posted on August 15, 2025

A former Kaizer Chiefs defender has completed a move to Motsepe Foundation Championship side Cape Town City FC.

City were relegated from the Betway Premiership after going down in the playoffs.

The club will be desperate to return back to the top-flight. Their task however will be extremely challenging, considering a number of their key players have already left the club.

Cape Town City boss John Comitis has confirmed the arrival of Njabulo Ngcobo at the club.

The former Kaizer Chiefs defender was a free agent after parting ways with Sekhukhune United.

Ngcobo was released by Kaizer Chiefs in June 2024. He joined Sekhukhune United for a single season.

Now, Ngcobo has completed a move to Cape Town City FC for the upcoming season.

City took to social media to also confirm their new signing on Friday afternoon.

Ngcobo made 45 appearances for Kaizer Chiefs. Last season, he featured just six times for Sekhukhune United. He’s also valued at approximately R6 million as per Transfermarkt.
