Former Chiefs slayer Judas Moseamedi back in the spotlight

Former Kaizer Chiefs player Judas Moseamedi has been trending on social media for the past few days.

The striker, born in Tzaneen, had his most prolific season in the DStv Premiership during 2019/20, scoring seven goals across all competitions.

In that season, he was particularly impactful against Amakhosi, finding the back of the net several times in a single season. In fact, he played a significant role in preventing Chiefs from winning the league that year.

Now, it seems that Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns fans are calling for Moseamedi to disrupt the Glamour Boys once again. Just like in the 2019/20 season, Chiefs have started this season strongly, and some are already considering them title contenders.

Can Judas Moseamedi hurt Chiefs again?

At this point, it appears unlikely. After leaving Maritzburg United in 2021, Moseamedi spent a season with Stellenbosch FC before moving to Marumo Gallants in 2023. He had a brief stint with EGS Gafsa in Tunisia, but later returned for a second spell at Durban City. Most recently, he was with Venda FC before becoming a free agent in July of this year.

Judas is 31 and has not played in the PSL for over two years. Chiefs fans are still not over the two goals Judas Moseamedi scored in Mbombela in 2019. He Limpopo-born striker made a name for himself in the Nedbank Cup and was awarded Man of the Match for his brace which knocked Chiefs out of the competition.

Judas Moseamedi was a problem for Chiefs

@Msigi_Emotion wrote: “He would only slay Chiefs and disappear and then resurface when it’s Chiefs again.”

@Lebomangena wrote: “This guy used to finish a season with around 4 goals. 3 of them against Chiefs.”

Can Chiefs win the league?
