Former Chiefs coach pushes for Pitso Mosimane appointment

Posted on September 30, 2025

Former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Farouk Khan has called for his former club to sign Pitso Mosimane.

Jingles has been without a club since leaving Iran earlier this year. Amakhosi have been linked to the former Al Ahly coach for several years, but no official offer was ever made for Mosimane by Chiefs.

With Nasreddine Nabi on his way out of Naturena, Khan has urged Amakhosi to bring in one of the best coaches the country has produced.

Khan explains what Pitso Mosimane can bring to Kaizer Chiefs

“Pitso Mosimane is a high-profile coach. He’s been there, done that and won the Champions League on more than one occasion. He comes with a huge pedigree, but he also comes with big expectations. Can Chiefs afford to buy him the players he needs? I am not talking about salary,” Khan told Soccer Beat.

“Pitso doesn’t want to finish second best; he has a score to settle with Sundowns. Besides being a professional, he wants to prove to South Africa that he is the best coach the country has produced in the last decade or so.

Khan said if Kaizer Chiefs want to compete with Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, they have to sign Pitso Mosimane.

“I don’t think that Chiefs won’t trust him, the reality is can they afford to get him what he wants, firstly and Pitso is a coach that is very firm on what he wants to do. You don’t sign players for Pitso Mosimane.

“I would sign Pitso Mosimane at this stage because I want to compete with the likes of Pirates and Sundowns currently because their house is in order,” the ex-Chiefs coach added.

With Nabi suspended by the club’s management, Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze have taken over until further notice.

Can Mosimane solve Amakhosi’s problems this season?
