First Orlando Pirates player to leave in January?

Posted on November 10, 2025

Orlando Pirates are looking like a serious force in the Premier Soccer League.

Mamelodi Sundowns’ dominance in the league could finally be challenged by the Bucs’.

The Buccaneers signed well in the off-season, and new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou seems to have found a formula that works for him.

And with his formula working, it spells bad news for some players who are not part of the equation at the moment.

Orlando Pirates attacker could be sent out on loan

One player who’s immediate future at the club is uncertain is Boitumelo Radiopane.

The 23-year-old striker has struggled with injuries over the past two seasons.

He’s finally fit and training with the Buccaneers after suffering an injury set-back at the beginning of the season.

Competition for places are extremely tight at the Buccaneers with Evidence Makgopa and Yanele Mbuthuma being Ouaddou’s preferred choice up top.

Waiting in the winds is Tshegofatso Mabasa, who incredibly can’t seem to crack it at the moment. That will tell you about the depth and competition at Orlando Pirates!

Now, Radiopane’s agent has confirmed that if his situation doesn’t improve, a loan move may be sought in January!

“It’s a long season for Pirates. Had they stayed in the Champions League, they might have looked at things slightly differently,” agent Mike Makaab told Soccer Laduma regarding Boitumelo Radiopane.

“But we will have to wait until such a time the AFCON starts and, in January, we will have a look at our clients who have not had game time and look if the clubs are looking to do any sort of loan deals.”

Radiopane’s numbers this season

Boitumelo Radiopane actually featured in four matches for Orlando Pirates at the beginning of the season.

Injury came to him at the worst possible time. And with the talent in the squad, getting his place back also looks like a mountain to climb.

A loan move may be the best possible solution for the hungry youngster.
