Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has reacted after the team secured their first league win of the season.
The Buccaneers had to overcome Stellenbosch FC 1-0 at the Orlando Stadium. A first-half striker by new signing Kamogelo Sebelebele was enough to give the Sea Robbers all three points and their second win of the season under Ouaddou.
The Orlando Pirates coach thanked his players for showing character in front of a packed Orlando Stadium.
“I have a thought for them [fans] because they were waiting for these three points for now two, three weeks, so I have a thought first of all for them.
“And I like to congratulate my boys because they have the character as well,” Ouaddou said.
Orlando Pirates earn first win in the league
“We had a very interesting first half; we created top chances, and in the second half, I think that we lost during 25-minute the control and I think we have to improve that if we want to go higher.
“We cannot accept to lose control in a game that we have had control since the beginning.”
Orlando Pirates are in action this weekend against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 semi-final second leg. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in Orlando last Saturday.
