Orlando Pirates can breathe a sigh of relief regarding their superstar’s situation.

Relebohile Mofokeng was left out of the club’s last match-day squad, raising many questions.

The Buccaneers earned a crucial 1-0 league victory over Orbit College, however it was without their star man.

Following the match, Abdeslam Ouaddou confirmed that the Orlando Pirates star picked up an injury.

Orlando Pirates star Mofokeng’s injury not serious

Following Tuesday’s victory over Orbit College, Abdeslam Ouaddou has the following to say regarding Mofokeng’s absence.

“About Rele, I have to discuss with the medical department, they communicated with me that he cannot be part of the game,” Ouaddou said as quoted by Soccer Laduma.

“But we still don’t have full feedback on the exam that he should do. I hope it’s nothing serious because we need him.”

Now, the same publication has confirmed that Mofokeng’s injury wasn’t as serious as originally perceived.

“Club insiders at Orlando Pirates have indicated that medical checks cleared up concerns, with Mofokeng already on course to make a swift return to the matchday squad.”

It remains to be seen whether Mofokeng will return in time for Sunday’s clash against Chippa United.
